With the closing of Shell Island / Second Chance Shell Bar, we are using alternative locations for much sought after shells.   

Shells are common everywhere however some specific beaches offer different shell finds.   Telling the captain what you’re looking for to complete your collection will give you a better chance of finding what you need. Shelling is one of the best things to do in Marco Island for any age.

Along with tides wind has almost just as much effect as the moon.  Offshore winds prevent the water from moving out.  Onshore winds push lower tide drops
